SPORTS is big business, management and, specifically, team-building. Something that is often overlooked: Sports is mainly entrepreneurship. Yes, athletes are entrepreneurs who build themselves from scratch. They often get mentors (coaches, family members) to help their development, but essentially, an athlete is both the business owner and the product. Yes, I root for the home team! But, in this age of free agency, I root for the entrepreneurs - I mean athletes - who embody the principles I hold dear: effort, determination, creativity, integrity...there are too many to name.
